Direct Access With Our Hygienist...

 

As of changes made in 2013 hygienists are now allowed to see patient’s for a hygiene clean without the patient being referred by the dentist first.
St Piran Dental’s hygiene therapist Jennifer Bracken can now see patients for cleans without them being registered with the dentist beforehand.

 

This is great for patients that only have an NHS dentist as they can still be registered with their own personal NHS dentist and come to see us here at St Piran for their hygiene. (Please be aware that we do have monthly dental plans available which you may want to consider and can be discussed at the appointment) Perfect if you would like your teeth cleaned for a wedding, holiday or just in general! New Patient Examination For Just £50!

 

All new patient examinations are reduced from £70 down to £50 if you join our dental plan on the day of your initial appointment.

Our dental plans start from £9.50 per month and this will include 2 hygiene visits and 2 dental check-ups a year. You also receive 10% discount on any other treatments needed. You save £66 a year!

Well done to our newly qualified dental nurse Tina!! She is now a fully qualified dental nurse at the practice. Congratulations!!

 

18th september 2014 - Mouth Cancer awareness

 

Last Thursday we offered free Oral cancer checks to all of the public as part of mouth cancer awareness day. It was a great success and we feel this has helped raise awareness for mouth cancer. Our patients always get an Oral cancer check at their 6 monthly examinations. We feel this is vital to do, as it can save lives!!

 

11th september 2014 - dpas training day

 

Thank you Tracey!! We would all like to thank Tracey from DPAS for our training day on Thursday 11th September. Tracey kindly came in to the practice for the afternoon and did some staff training with us. She was very helpful and we have taken all her advice on board.

We then went out in the evening down to St Ives as a team along with Tracey for some chocolate making. We all really enjoyed ourselves, thank you DPAS for letting us have this experience.

6th May 2014 - National Smile Month

 

This month it is National smile month. Here at St Piran Dental we are helping to raise money for two charities, Bridge2Aid and British Dental health foundation. We are being involved by creating ‘’Selfie Smiley’s’’. Our Selfie smiley page will be up and running very soon where you can help us donate and track the smileys around the world. 7th April 2014 - Horsham hands on day - GDP course

 

What a great day, and all those attending made it such an enjoyable time. A big thanks to Gary for being able to get through the floods – what determination! There was also a practice manager, Caz, who came along to sit in and listen before going shopping and ended up staying all day. Hopefully Sushill and Caz are now implementing those things we were discussing as there were some great ideas coming form the group. A big thank you to Ben from Ivoclar Vivadent , and also to IV for sponsoring the event without whom it would not have been possible.

 

21st February 2014 - What a great day!

 

The day was really rewarding and even through the floods we all managed to get there. I have to say a big thanks to Ivoclar Vivadent who are the company that supported the event, and our regional rep Ben for organising it. We had some great Dentists attending and it was fantastic to see the high level of work everyone is doing. For all those that attended I hope you had an enjoyable day and I look forward to seeing you again.

A big well done to our head nurse Mandy who has passed her exam and is now fully qualified to take impressions!!

26th November 2013 - Good luck Mandy!

 

Our head nurse Mandy has just been on the second part of her impression course. She is now two thirds of the way to obtaining her impression taking certificate! Good luck Mandy!

 

31st October 2013 - Cleaner, Whiter, Brighter

 

Mandy and Tamsin went on a 'Cleaner, Whiter, Brighter' course yesterday! They learned lots about tooth whitening, the science behind how it works, and techniques that can be used! They were also taught how to properly take the shade of a tooth. The nice food and view of the sea was a bonus!"

 

24th October 2013 - Mouth Cancer Action Month

 

Next month is Mouth Cancer Action Month! We feel this is something very important to be aware of and are supporting it by offering free oral cancer health screenings! Give us a call to make an appointment!

Here at St Piran we have a day dedicated to children. On the 29th October, we are having a spooky halloween themed day! So why not book your children in for an appointment, and they can join in with some activities and get their face painted, takes the spookyness out of coming to the dentist! This week Chris is travelling up to London to run the first of his cosmetic courses for dentists! He has been head hunted by one the largest dental companys to devise and run a cosmetic courses for dentists. We are extermely proud and excited for him as this is recognition of how much time and effort he has dedicated into enhancing his ever increasing skill set. We wish him all the best and have made sure he's got lots of photos of a sunny cornwall in his presentation!!"
