Dr Chris Mcconnell

Dr Chris McConnell is a general dentist with a special interest in cosmetic and sedation dentistry. He has a broad working dental background having worked in specialist hospital units as well as high street practice both in the UK and Australia.

Through his commitment to advancing his skills and postgraduate development Chris has been awarded full membership of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also an appointed "opinion leader" for a multi-national dental company and is involved with training dentists in advanced cosmetic techniques throughout the UK. As well as working at St Piran, Chris also works part time as a visiting specialist at the Plymouth University Peninsula Dental School.

His special interest in sedation sees him treat many people each year who are highly anxious or phobic of going to the dentist. Chris was one of the first dentists in Cornwall to accept referrals from patients and dentists for this type of treatment, and is currently the only dentist in Cornwall to be dental phobia certified.

Jennifer Bracken

Jennifer Bracken is a fully qualified Dental Therapist and Hygienist. Jenny graduated from Dundee University in 2010 before returning back to Cornwall where she grew up.

A therapist is a dental professional who can do non-complex fillings with adults and all treatments on children. Therapists are very similar to dentists and work closely alongside the whole dental team to provide patients with excellence in dental care. Jenny is a dedicated and caring member of the team and works jointly with Chris on our teeth straightening and cosmetic programmes providing continuity of care.

Jenny has a special interest in children’s dentistry, periodontic therapy and cosmetic dentistry. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding, and competes nationally often winning many awards.

Kirsten

Kirsten is a qualified dental nurse at St Piran Dental Practice she has been with us since May 2014. She has been qualified for 4 years now. You may see Kirsten on reception, in surgery or she may be down in the office as she is also in charge of our marketing and media for the practice. Kirsten is also a qualified oral health educationist.

Kirsten likes to keep active at the gym 4-5 times a week. She is hoping to complete a half marathon at some point in 2015. Watch this space!

Like any female she enjoys a little retail therapy…. Who doesn’t!!

Helen

Helen joined us in 2011 and has been working in dentistry for 18years. She first qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1998 and now works between our reception and office. Helen has a strong belief in providing excellent customer service and is happy to help with any questions you may have. Helen also organises the finances for the practice.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.

Tina

Tina joined St Piran dental practice as a trainee in 2012. She has recently qualified as a dental nurse. Tina will mostly be in surgery nursing with Jen our hygienist or Chris our dentists. You will also see Tina on reception we she can help with any queries on booking appointments etc.

Mandy

Mandy has lived in Cornwall for 5 years, she has also been working here at St Piran for 5 years. Mandy first qualified as a dental nurse 24 years ago.
Mandy is highly qualified as a nurse, she has further qualifications in treatment co-ordination, impression taking, oral health educator and a qualification in implants. So you will see Mandy doing various thing around the practice.

In Mandy’s spare time she enjoys baking cakes, walking her dog Oakley and gardening.
